Centered on Sugar House Park, this neighborhood is known for being a vibrant area with a history. Over the years, it has transformed into a desirable place to live, and only about 7 miles from the Downtown district. The boundaries of this neighborhood are rough, but is contained within 1700 South in the north, S 2165 East in the east, 3300 South in the south, and 500 East in the west.
Historically, Sugar House was home to Sugar House Prison, which went out of commission in the early 1950s. The area where it stood was reimagined, and is now Sugar House Park—which is 110 acres in size, and features a creek, a large pond, and a golf course.

With outlet stores, a movie theater, grocery stores, restaurants, and more, this outdoor complex is a resident favorite for picking up the necessities or taking the family for a night out.
There are three golf courses in Sugar House: Nibley Park Golf Course, Forest Dale Golf Course, and The Country Club. The latter is located within Sugar House Park. This green area, along with its sister, Parleys Historic Nature Park, has a waterfall, forest trails, a playground, pavilions, and sports fields. The other large park, Fairmont Park, has an aquatic center, a skate park, a dogs-only area, and pickleball courts.
